Haemacure’s lead product candidate is the Hemaseel®HMN fibrin sealant.  Haemacure’s second product candidate is the Hemaseel®Thrombin haemostatic agent.

Haemacure has recently identified high-value, specialty proteins in one of its plasma discards, that it will seek to develop in partnership with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.  Results to-date are encouraging and further work is required to complete the discard analysis and present product development proposals to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

Sealants and haemostats are reported to improve patient recovery and rehabilitation after invasive surgery, to decrease morbidity caused by infections, and to decrease post-surgery adhesions.  Their use also results in significant cost savings as they reduce the overall duration of surgical interventions.

Our bio-surgical product candidates contain proteins of human origin only.  As a result, our products will provide significant clinical advantages by reducing the immunological risks and the potential for cross-species disease transmission associated with bovine-derived products.

Haemacure also sells fibrin sealant delivery devices, or applicators, under the trademarks HemaSyst™ and HemaMyst™.
